Terms and Conditions
1) Payment Terms
Installation/Supply Jobs - Payment for goods must be paid as specified on your quotation but in general, payment must be made at time of ordering. Payment for labour must be paid as specified on your quotation but in general, Non-Contract Customers must pay on completion of job and Contract Customers must pay by the 15th day of the month following invoice.
Any late payment will result in your support being suspended until any arrears are paid in full plus a £10.00 administration charge.
We reserve the right to charge interest on the overdue amount in accordance with the terms of the prevailing UK Legislation (currently The Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998). Where this Act does not apply, interest will be calculated at 8% above the Bank of England Base Rate. This charge will not be incurred if the invoice is settled in full, within 30 days of the invoice date.
2) Repair/Maintenance Jobs

To Business Contract Customers, and upon completion of a trading/credit account application form, we may vary these terms and these will be shown on your written quotation. Granite Computer Solutions Ltd reserves the right to refuse, suspend or withdraw credit facilities without notice or explanation. Overdue invoices may result in all support and help being withdrawn, further credit being suspended, withdrawn or credit limit being reviewed.
Payment accepted by bank transfer/draft, cash or cheque. Business cheques and personal cheques over cheque guarantee card may be subject to 5 working days clearance. Business leasing available subject to status. Personal Finance & Interest Free Credit available on certain sales, subject to status.
3) Insurance / Warranties / Contracts / Rentals / Internet Services Terms & Conditions
Insurance, Warranties, Extended Warranties, Contracts, Rentals, Internet Services and any other services as notified are subject to separate terms and conditions (copies available on request).
4) Goods
Granite Computer Solutions Ltd do not warrant the suitability of goods for any particular purpose, and the purchaser should check specifications and suitability with manufacturers before ordering. Goods are NOT sold on a trial basis. Goods offered subject to being unsold. In the event of non-availability of goods, we reserve the right to rescind that part of the contract.
All goods and services remain the property of Granite Computer Solutions Ltd until all monies are paid for in full. Goods purchased for resale cannot be resold until all monies are paid for in full.
5) Prices & Specification
Prices and manufacturers specifications subject to change without notice. Minor specification variations do not entitle the purchaser to rescind the contract. All quotations remain valid for 30 days. All prices exclude VAT, delivery and installation, unless otherwise stated.
6) Guarantee & Warranty
Claims for damage, non-functionality, and mis-shipping must be made within seven days of receipt. After this date, and in all circumstances after 28 days, repair may not be offered.
The purchaser must use any manufacturer or on site arrangements provided. Some manufacturers offer extended warranties on their products as standard. The manufacturer, and not Granite Computer Solutions Ltd, provides any extended warranty, and in most circumstances you must contact the manufacturer direct for any warranty repair.
All new products carry a 12 month RTB warranty, with the exception of any consumable items. All second user products are sold in working order and carry a 14 day warranty.
Any conflict, configuration or software errors that occur within 14 days of Granite Computer Solutions Ltd carrying out any work on a product will be corrected under the original contract, providing no other party has carried out work on the equipment in the meantime AND they are related to the work that was carried out.
Any electrical or mechanical failure of a product that occurs within 12 months of Granite Computer Solutions Ltd supplying AND fitting a NEW product will be replaced and fitted under the original contract, providing no other party has carried out work on the equipment in the meantime.
Any electrical or mechanical failure of an item that occurs within 3 months of Granite Computer Solutions Ltd physically repairing a product will be repaired under the original contract, providing no other party has carried out work on the equipment in the meantime AND the failure is the same as originally repaired.
Apart from as stated above, Granite Computer Solutions Ltd will not guarantee any labour time charged for. Any additional time involved, however caused, will be charged at our current advertised rates.
7) Support
Support for the installation, configuration and use of any goods is provided by the manufacturer, unless the product is marked as an OEM item or a Granite Computer Solutions Ltd branded system, where support is provided by Granite Computer Solutions Ltd by telephone for 12 months from the date of purchase, by calling our telephone support line. At our discretion we may provide technical support for a period of 14 days following the sale of any goods or services. No support is provided for second user components or systems.
Granite Computer Solutions Ltd can, if required, configure and install any goods sold at our current advertised rates. We reserve the right to refuse this service once the purchaser has received or collected the goods.
8) Returns
All returns must be in stock condition and be authorised by Granite Computer Solutions Ltd. No opened software will be accepted for credit. Faulty media to be swapped by the manufacturer. A restocking fee of 25% may be charged on any returned items that prove to be non-defective.
If any goods returned as faulty prove to be non-defective, then we reserve the right to bill the purchaser for the time involved carrying out the test or configuring the product.
The purchaser is responsible for ensuring safe delivery of returned items.
9) Consequential Loss
Granite Computer Solutions Ltd are not liable for any consequential loss or expenses, however caused, including incidental return costs.
10) Data
Granite Computer Solutions Ltd will assume all data has been backed up before our representative’s work on any machine, and Granite Computer Solutions Ltd or employees cannot be responsible for any data loss however caused.
11) Variations
These terms and conditions may be varied occasionally and any new copy will be notified to you, published on our website, and sent in writing if requested.
12) Charges for Products and Services
Products and services will be charged at our current advertised rates (copies available on request). Customers should always check the current charges before requesting any products or services to be supplied by or work to be carried out by Granite Computer Solutions Ltd.
13) Storage
After work has been carried out at our workshop on your equipment, we will store the equipment ready for your collection/payment for up to 3 months, after which we reserve the right to dispose/sell the equipment to reimburse any costs that you may owe us for works carried out.
14) Miscellaneous
If part of these terms is found to be unlawful, it shall not affect the validity of the remainder. These terms and conditions do not affect consumer statutory rights. Errors & omissions accepted. Granite Computers is a trading style of Granite Computer Solutions Ltd. |
